It seems I have a “thing” for lamps, and pillows, and chairs… Oh, who am I kidding I am a fool for decor! I don’t see it as a bad thing, but ask my husband and he would probably say different, ha! Anywho, I’ve had a set of lamps just sitting not being used for months. I decided to give one of them a makeover and add it to our basement! We were in need of a lamp of some sort down there anyways! It’s amazing what a little spray paint can do, and a new lamp shade!
Before I started, I put some aluminium foil over the socket of the lamp so it wouldn’t get paint on it. I spray painted using Valspar La Fonda Mirage, flat spray paint. I gave it a nice two even coats. Before the piece was completely dry, I rubbed some of the porous places already in the lamp and it opened them up a tad, giving definition to the lamp! I picked up a charcoal gray lampshade from Hobby Lobby earlier in the week for only $12! It kind of gave me a boost on this project and fit it perfectly! I absolutely adore decorating with neutrals, but the fun of our basement is I went a little outside the box. We opted for a dark gray on the walls and since it doubles as the kids playroom, it’s oozing with color! Stay tuned for the full reveal coming soon!!
Sharing this project on these lovely blogs!
Woohoo, it’s Friday lovelies! I’ve got a little surprise up my sleeve tonight for my hubby’s birthday! Looking forward to spending the evening with him! Anyways, let’s get to my favorite pins this week!
1. Love love love leopard, and these peek-toe booties are right up my alley!! Adds style to any outfit and pairs perfectly with these rolled up, worn jeans. You’re going to want to head over to
s e e r s u c k e r + s a d d l e s, her style is to die for!!
2. I think the idea of making a tent for the kids playroom is so much fun! Once the basement is finished, we are going to make one to put in the corner where they can read, create and imagine!
3. Sleek and sophisticated! This room boasts classic stripes with style! Fresh colors and clean lines perfectly in place. I’m not one to decorate with black much, but this is eye-catching!
4. Never thought about using dollies as a place mat, but I’m loving the idea! Simple and perfect for any vintage get together!
