My husband is part of a band, and he played a show last night, so that means I was at home with my kiddies for the evening.. Honestly, no other place I’d rather be 🙂 My five year old son, Christian, told me he wanted to stay up all night. I wasn’t too hip to the thought at first, because my baby girl still gets up at least twice a night to eat and I look forward to as much sleep as possible; BUT I figured it’s only one night, and he was really excited when I told him he could stay up with me to watch the ball drop! Once we put the baby to bed, we watched a DVR’d Chronicles of Narnia, interesting movie, that was the first time I’d seen any of those. Then we played a little Monopoly 🙂 Around 11:45 p.m., I felt like my eyes were about to cross, this is how I know I’m getting old (lol), we watched the countdown to the New Year, Christian counting down the 60 seconds, the ball drops, I give him kisses, we say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!, and he says, ” so when’s the ball gonna drop?” Poor guy… haha I love it! Being a Mommy is such fun, I love the things my kids say/do! Needless to say, I didn’t have to ask him if he was ready for bed, he told me he was going to bed and went with no hesitation!
I always look forward to taking the kids to see Santa each year; well now both kids!! It’s always so fun to see their reactions.. Christian is normally very shy, even though he rehearses what he is going to ask for in the car on our way to see him… Today he told Santa he would just write or call him to tell him, hahaha.. Isabella just sat there and stared at him, soo cute!
