These are what I will be basing my pomander balls on. I’m not crazy about the flowers they used here, but this is the idea! I don’t know what flowers I will be using yet. Any suggestions ?!

Reception Time…

October 22, 2009 by Fotini Filed Under: centerpieces, fall, love, plans, pumpkins, rustic, stunning, wedding, white Leave a Comment

For my reception centerpieces I will be using 12″ glass cylinders filled with water and decorated with decorative tree branches.

The reception site we went with doesn’t allow lit candles, and I’m not too fond of the flame less look. I love candles and love the warm feel they provide, so I’m really disappointed we can’t use them.

BUT, I have plans for the tables to look stunning anyways!

I have ordered 500 olive green and 500 rust orange 4 carat gems to place around each table to incorporate our colors. It will give the tables a rich, warm feel and balance our colors.

Instead of using traditional table numbers and stands, I will be using mini white pumpkins, making a small slit on the top, and using a rustic card with the table numbers. I think this will add a whole other feel to the room. I had never seen much of the white pumpkins until this past fall, and I love them!

Also, to include the white pumpkins at the reception, I will use a little larger ones and put them on the candy tables and such. I would like to try and carve our names, wedding date and “Fall in Love”, which is our theme, into the pumpkins. I don’t know how logical that will be, but I still want to try.

My Inspiration!

The colors I went with are Ivory, Olive Green and Rust Orange. I absolutely love the fall season and really enjoy all the gorgeous colors that come with it! Once I chose these colors, everything just seemed to fall in place. I began to find tons of stuff I could use in these colors and a lot of unique ideas I can incorporate them with. Although I won’t be having our ceremony outside (because of unpredictable weather), I wanted to bring the outdoors, IN! To liven up the ceremony site, which we will be holding at our Church, we will decorate the outside and entrance with orange mums. I will be making pomander flower balls to decorate the chairs at the end of the isle way, with a variety of flowers matching the wedding parties bouquet. My Dad will be making a stunning trellis and staining it a dark brown color. This will be added on the stage to add some character. I will decorate the trellis with ivory, flowing fabric for a more intimate feel!

I haven’t fully determined what kind of flowers I will use for the bouquets, yet, but I was leaning toward calla lilies, hydrangeas, roses and berries. I think all these flowers together create a very romantic feel!
