So, I haven’t wrote since I gave birth to Isabella… She was born on May fourth in the evening! She was born alert and interested in everything going on around her! She is the BEST baby 🙂 She rarely cries, and is getting her little personality already! She is definetly going to be a daddy’s girl <3 She really responds to his voice and smiles at him constantly when he’s around her 🙂 It’s hard to believe it’s already been two months.. In a sense it makes me sad because it has gone by so quickly, the next two months will fly by just as quick. They really don’t stay babies for long! We are trying to enjoy every single minute of it!!
Christian is an awesome big brother and very proud of his little sister. And, Isabella is very interested in him. She really listens to him and watches everything he does. I can’t wait for our family to make beautiful memories together 🙂 I’m soooo very excited for what the future holds for our family 🙂
Quite honestly I would have thought the baby would be here by now, but she’s just not ready yet! I found out two weeks ago that I was 1 cm. dilated, but have only reached about 2 cm. in the meantime. My due date is next Sunday… I am really hoping she will come before then though! Waiting is definitely the hardest part at the end of the pregnancy. My hands, feet and face are pretty swollen, making it more uncomfortable on top of everything else!
The good thing about her not being here yet, is that I can finish getting things prepared. I actually just ordered a round bassinet for her to sleep in, and I can’t wait to get it! It should be here by Saturday… It’s gorgeous and she will look gorgeous sleeping in it 🙂 I’m looking forward to dolling her up all the time! I’ve gotten some of the cutest clothes and can’t wait to see her in them!
I’m sure the next time I write, my little princess will be here!
This past Friday I had my last ultrasound before Isabella is born! It was soo exciting to see her moving around in my belly and to see her little silhouette. She is growing beautifully and is weighing in around 5 lbs. 4 oz! I found out the reason I’ve been having terrible heartburn, is because she has a ton of hair! I can’t wait to see her 🙂 I can’t believe she will be here within the next four weeks!! I am just beside myself with excitement!
My baby shower was this past Saturday, March 26th at one o’clock in the afternoon, hosted by my Mother-in-law, Vicki and games done by my best friend, Amanda. Vicki did such a great job at adding special touches to every part of the shower! As the favors, she made Vintage style hand fans, each different and unique. She made an adorable ‘baby carriage’ out of a watermelon and presented it as fruit bowl! We lunched on delicious homemade chicken salad croissant sandwiches and drank a berry punch. The cake was an adorable Vintage style carriage in white and pink. Isabella and I got soo many wonderful gifts! Lots of adorable clothes, bows, diapers, a swing, Nap Nanny, Diaper Genie and soo much more! Not to mention my favorite photographer, Rose DeVore, gifted me a year of milestone pictures, FREE! I can’t wait to have her pictures taken 🙂 It was a wonderful afternoon with close friends and family in celebration of little Isabella! I will post pictures as soon as I get them!
For me, one of the hardest decisions has been trying to decide on a crib. There are sooo many different styles and designs. I do know that I want dark colored, Espresso wood. I came across this crib, and love it! It has gorgoeous carvings and detail! http://www.ababy.com/.
So my baby shower is coming up this Saturday, March 26th and I can’t wait!! I was doing some searching of Vintage inpsired baby showers, and came across this one… I absolutely love it!!http://www.babylifestyles.com/2011/02/vintage-pink-coco-chanel-inspired-baby-shower/
I love the colors used, personalization and “look” of the gathering. I can’t wait to see what my shower is like 🙂 But I’m most excited just to celebrate the anticipated arrival of my little Isabella! Anyways, check out that link to get ideas for your baby shower, enjoy!
I originally thought I was going to decorate her room in a pink and brown modern/princess theme. I still love the design I came up with, but not quite as much as what I have in mind now! When I was researching for the wedding, I came across the color duo blush pink and champagne, and I fell in love with it! Searching around the store today, I happened to come across a danty, feminine pillow with Isabella’s name on it! Of course, there was no question that I was buying it, but it didn’t exactly fit with the first nursery design. I know, it’s crazy to think one pillow could make me reconsider that easily, but that’s just how I work! Upon searching, I came across this adorable, blush pink, frilly pillow and I loved it!! So that was my focus… the wheels in my head really began turning, and I started picturing this gorgeous, ornate nursery 🙂 Now my job was to put it together!!
