I originally thought I was going to decorate her room in a pink and brown modern/princess theme. I still love the design I came up with, but not quite as much as what I have in mind now! When I was researching for the wedding, I came across the color duo blush pink and champagne, and I fell in love with it! Searching around the store today, I happened to come across a danty, feminine pillow with Isabella’s name on it! Of course, there was no question that I was buying it, but it didn’t exactly fit with the first nursery design. I know, it’s crazy to think one pillow could make me reconsider that easily, but that’s just how I work! Upon searching, I came across this adorable, blush pink, frilly pillow and I loved it!! So that was my focus… the wheels in my head really began turning, and I started picturing this gorgeous, ornate nursery 🙂 Now my job was to put it together!!
Choosing a name was very important to me, but equally important to my husband, Reuben. Important to each of us for different reasons.. When we named our son, his middle name, Keaton, was named after my grandfather. Reuben wanted to continue the trend of naming our child after family, but he didn’t have anyone specific in mind. I was really keen to the first name Isabella and would ask Reuben often for
his opinion! Finally, we both agreed upon Isabella for her first name, but still unsure about the middle name.
Even though this will sound like somewhat of a cliche, we decided on the middle name when we were shopping at Buy Buy Baby. We were both crazy about Victoria, but not sure it sounded good together.. We were shopping around the store looking at bedroom furniture when we came across adorable, handcrafted toy chests. The two on display were, Isabella and Victoria. And then our decision was made! Isabella Victoria 🙂 The significance of the Victoria, related to family would be Reuben’s mom, Vickie.
We couldn’t be more happy with our decision and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our gorgeous baby girl!
Do you have any standards or family traditions you go by when naming your children?!
I think the little details are almost just as important as the big ones. I love using a simple pink design and adding glamorous pieces to dress it up 🙂
So this week we got the very exciting news that we will be having a little GIRL! My best friend, Amanda went with me to the doctors and I think we were both shocked when the ultrasound technician told us 🙂
I’ve been so excited about this pregnancy and was really hoping it would be a girl, but I didn’t want to be disappointed if it was a boy, so I kept the chances 50/50. My husband and my four year old son were deteremined it was a boy, so they were both shocked to get the news!
I have been busy beginning the preparation of designing her bedroom! I can’t wait to start putting everything together! Of course with a girl comes a lot of pink, but I’m ok with that! I have found some great pieces that I really like and will look great together. I will start adding pics and websites of the great deals I find in the future 🙂
Since just having the wedding, we will be doing the babies room on a budget! But I am optimistic it will turn out gorgeous!
It has been nearly 53 days since Reuben and I “tied the knot”. It has been the best fifty three days of my life…
Not only was our wedding amazing, it was way more than I could of asked for. So many things seemed to have changed last minute (which was stressful in itself), but I was overwhelmed with the amount of hard work, friends and members of our Church, put into making it magical.
Our photographer, Rose DeVore http://rosedevorephotography.blogspot.com/2010/12/we-were-given-two-hands-to-hold.html?spref=fb, really captured our love for one another in every photo.
Just a little advice for upcoming brides for the day of: DON’T stress about how things will turn out, you enjoy it soooo much more when you are carefree and enjoying yourself 🙂
Only F O U R D A Y S until our wedding! I can’t believe it’s almost here 🙂
I’ve been working hard trying to get those last minute details perfect, let’s hope it turns out perfect! I can’t wait!!!!
T w e n t y T w o days.. I can’t believe it’s getting so close to my wedding day!!
I’ve had to make some final decisions to tie everything together… I was having a hard time trying to decide what color of nail polish to wear. I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to wear color or not; so I finally made up my mind! I was at my trial makeup session last week, and my makeup artist was wearing this darling pale pink/ivory color, turned out to be Sweetheart by O.P.I; I went out and bought it right away!
Now with that out of the way, I had to decide how I wanted to wear my hair… I had originally thought a glamorous, loose natural bun, but with my dress being strapless and it being Fall, I think I should opt for at least half up, half down. Only thing is, I can’t find a specific hairstyle that is standing out to me 🙁 … I have my trial hair session on Saturday, so hopefully I fall in love with something, fast!
Oh, and some things have changed since the last time I posted, we found out we’re pregnant with our second child! What a surprise that was, although I’m super ecstatic! So, this changed a few minor things.. I changed a few things with our menu a little bit to lower the price about $5 per person, decided to spend less on alcohol and opted with a more affordable wedding favor. And I’m still just as happy as I was before! Now, we get to look forward to adding a new member to our family!
I had THE most amazing bridal shower ever!!
I absolutely loved the place it was at. It was at a place called Park Alley Tavern in Olde Town Pickerington. The upstairs, where the shower took place, was very rich in history, built in the late 1800’s. The ceiling was gorgeous, I don’t even know how to describe what it was made of, but it was very elegant, vintage… Right in tune with the theme I’m going after for the wedding! When I walked in, I had to go up these dark wood, super wide stairs and was met by my hostess and amazing maid of honor! Behind her was a gorgeous baby grand piano covered with glass vases filled with gorgeous ivory, garden roses and natural branches. There was also one enormous, gorgeous orange flower I have no clue what it was.
Amanda had customized fall leaves with mine and Reubens names and our wedding date. These aligned the tabels along with beautiful olive and orange candels and beaded holders. Everything just came together so amazingly! When I had first arrived, I had numerous people tell me to go and look at the cake.. It was a three- tier round cake that was decorated with my exact colors. It was an ivory cake with white detail and very detailed leaves and acorns. The three tiers consisted of pink champagne- with real strawberries between layers, banana (delishh) and lemon. This cake was to die for! Delicious 🙂
Everything was fabulous, I couldn’t have asked for more! My friend, and amazing photographer was there and took tons of pictures!! I can’t wait to post some on here 🙂
Check back soon for pictures!!!
Today is Thursday, August 18th and my bridal shower is on Saturday!! I can’t wait 🙂 I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and celebrate. Not to mention, my MOD (maid of honor) has done an absolute fabulous job at setting everything up, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out! I have been to a couple of bridal showers this summer and it’s so fun to hear all of the details about the wedding and get to know the bride and groom a little better. I’m truely looking forward to mine! Hopefully we will get a ton a amazing pictures so I can post them on here for everyone to see 🙂
Wish me luck, and lets’ hope we get some of the entertaining pieces we asked for 😉
